Safex Transport is honoured to announce that it has received the prestigious SmartWay Excellence Award, presented by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This distinction reflects the company's ongoing commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving energy efficiency.
How the Award Works
The SmartWay recognition program evaluates and benchmarks the environmental performance of freight carriers against rigorous criteria. Award recipients are selected from "large" or "small/medium" fleet categories and assessed across 13 distinct logistics fleet categories — including Full-Truckload (FTL), Less-Than-Truckload (LTL), refrigerated, and heavy-haul transport. Honoured carriers must demonstrate measurable reductions in their carbon dioxide (CO₂), nitrogen oxide (NOₓ), and particulate matter (PM) emission rates.
"Shipper and logistics award winners distinguish themselves by relying on the most fuel-efficient SmartWay carriers," explains Laurence Pilon, writer at Safex Transport. "The program begins each March, and fleet evaluation results culminate in the official award ceremony held by the EPA in the fall."
Leading in Green Logistics
Thanks to the recent acquisition of aerodynamic tractors, the implementation of strict anti-idling policies, and real-time analysis of driving performance, Safex Transport positions itself at the forefront of green logistics. This commitment to sustainability allows corporate clients to directly reduce the Scope 3 emissions of their supply chains.
Safex Transport wishes to thank all of its drivers and operations teams for their daily diligence on the road — essential to maintaining this high level of environmental performance.
